What is PDRN?
Polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) is made of DNA fragments sourced from the sperm cells of Oncorhynchus mykiss (rainbow trout) or Oncorhynchus keta (chum salmon). Sperm cells are the best source to obtain PDRN because they are free from impurities such as proteins, peptides, and lipids. PDRN has been shown to have therapeutic benefits, including anti-inflammatory, bone regenerative, wound healing, and scar prevention properties. Polynucleotide-containing products enhance tissue regeneration in damaged environments, promoting more natural tissue healing as well as increasing volume in deficit areas.
Is salmon sperm safe to put into the skin?
PDRN undergoes extraction and purification at extremely high temperatures. Over 95% pure active substances are retrieved while proteins and peptides are inactivated during the process. This ensures the product’s safety by eliminating any potential immunological reactions. Studies have shown that repeated administration of PDRN had no signs of toxicity in the brain, heart, skeletal muscles, liver, or lungs.
How is PDRN different from hyaluronic acid filler?
PDRN therapy helps combat aging by reducing fine lines and wrinkles, enhancing skin elasticity and firmness through increased collagen production, repairing damage caused by chronic inflammation or sun exposure, reducing scars, boosting hydration, improving the skin’s barrier, and overall enhancing skin quality.
In contrast, HA therapy focuses on soft tissue augmentation, restoring lost volume to sunken areas, delivering deep hydration, and diminishing wrinkles, fine lines, and pore size, especially when used alongside neuromodulators.
